The Integrated Palliative & Hospice Care Essentials Workshop

The Integrated Palliative & Hospice Care Essentials Workshop was successfully conducted on August 11–12, 2026, at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Nepal. The two-day workshop focused on strengthening practical skills in palliative and hospice care through home-based hospice visits, bedside teaching, interactive lectures, and case-based discussions. Participants gained hands-on experience in clinical, psychosocial, and community-based aspects of palliative care. Mr. Swarup Immaraju, Nursing Superintendent, Hyderabad Centre for Palliative Care (HCPC), Hyderabad, played a key role in training and mentoring the participating nurses. The workshop provided an excellent platform for sharing experiences, strengthening nursing competencies, and promoting collaboration in palliative care between India and Nepal
